After Yap and Pingris, Barracael your next!

During Game 1 of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals, there was a scenario that Barracael was handling the ball and tried to bring it on their side of the court.
He has a defender, who? It was a Beast from the gatas republik.
It was Calvin "The Beast" Abueva.
Abueva successfully defended Barracael and swiping the ball to his advantage.
He took the ball and went to the basket strongly, as he always does.
But the man from the BGSM, Barracael, never backed down and chased Abueva as the Beast went to the basket. As soon as Barracael catches on Abueva, he gave Abueva "a good-finals tackle" that made went Abueva down to the canvass, one of his several dives on the court during the game (Abueva's average dive of the court is about 5 per game..that's insane!).
Coach Luigi Trillo saw this and reacted on the side of the court and was appealing to the referees for a flagrant foul.

But again Barracael, gave "a good-finals tackle" aiming for the ball.

On the following ball position, Abueva got the ball and went one-on-one against Barracael and he was successful in nailing his shot.
Abueva (caught on camera) gestured a "thumb-down" sign, as he was telling Barracael, "wala ka pala, eh" or "Panis ka!".
Abueva's ethics on the court shows no respect to nobody..as in "TO NOBODY!". This was obvious when they had their series against SanMig Coffee Mixers, he was against veterans James Yap and Marc Pingris.

Now...in the Finals, is Barracael the next victim of the Abueva's "mind game"?
Is Abueva vs Barracael picture in the making?

we'll see...

PBA Finals Game 1: A Blow-Out!

The PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals-Game 1 started last night and it was a heck of a blow-out!
The Alaska Aces started oozing confidence and their shots were all falling in. On the other hand, the leagues' famous team the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel just can't buy a shot. The first quarter ended as 26-8 in favor of the Aces. This was the poorest starting performance of the BGSM in this conference or maybe in their franchise history.

The depth of the Alaska Aces bench was a huge factor in their series against SanMig Coffee Mixers, again, this was obvious in their Game 1 finals series against BGSM. The Cebuano Hotshot, Dondon Hontiveros, a known-shooter was one of their player coming off the bench, not to mention RJ Jazul who drains trays in all corners.

The BGSM lived to their "never-say-die" attitude and fought their way to lessen the Aces lead that had started since first quarter, but still, it wasn't enough.

The BGSM fans hopes to see their beloved team to rise up and tie the series at 1-1 a piece.
The GAME 2 of the Finals will be on May 17, 2013.

Chris Ellis Experiencing Expectation-Failed Syndrome

Yes, you've read it right.
"Expectation-Failed Syndrome" (EFS) is the term I used to describe Chris "Airforce" Ellis's recent game performance with the Philippines' most popular ball club, The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings.

Before his professional debut, the he has been dubbed as "Airforce Ellis" a phrase tag to his name due to his high flying skill (ask Nonoy Baclao about this).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow2P3Uej_uE

Due to his impressive preseason performance, especially his highlight reels, expectations leveled-up and some BGSM Kings fans saw him as "The Future".

But his jersey-ripping act during their 96-93 loss to Rain or Shine E-painters upon fouling-out with 0 points, some rebounds and a block, showed it all.
At that moment, he's feelin' the symptoms of the syndrome.

Frustration.

He has never been a consistent impact on the court. He has never yet to live to the fans perception as "The Future". Actually, if not for his nicely-done dunks he'll never be remembered.

Recently in www.pbaddicts.net, "Trade Ellis!" were seen on the forums and discussions. Another evidence that fans are now getting frustrated to what he brings to the court (especially that open 3-point attempt that he missed and hit the board, which could have tied their game with ROS).

He was hyped-up by the social media that causes the high expectations of the fans, that as of now is far from realization.

No question about his athleticism.
He's shooting is a blank that should be filled-in.
He's clutch-game poise should be develop.
He's confidence should be lift up.

If the call for trade will be in motion, I wish Chris "Airforce" Ellis will live up to expectations. He is lucky that he's blessed with high-leaping ability, not all basketball players gets blessed with it. He must utilize this while he's young. ADIREPUBLIK

Battle of the Winning Streak

One team is undefeated with a 5-0 win-loss record. The other team is a defending champion that had a slow start but on a 2-game winning streak.
These two teams will battle tomorrow at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum, 7:30 pm.
This game will feature two of the leagues most energy-hustle-filled of players...

The Beast averaging a 12.2 rpg and Sakuragi 6.8 rpg these stats are based in the present conference which is an import-laden Comissioner's Cup.

The game will feature the possible 5-man line-up for both teams that will slug it out to get that W.

SMC MIXERS: DEFENDING CHAMP OR SLUMP

The SanMig Coffee Mixers, defending champThe SanMig Coffee Mixers, defending champion of the import-laden Commissioner’s Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), turns 0-2 on their win-loss record.

After a 4-point loss on their first game, they were dumped by the Petron Blaze Boosters on their second game losing by 20-plus margin.

Matt Rogers, an NBA veteran, has a good shooting touch but lacks inside presence and energy.
Matt Rogers is way far from the performance of the former SanMig Coffee Mixers import Denzel “Super” Bowles (Best import, 2012).

Denzel Bowles is still bounded with a contract a basketball team in China.
Hopefully, Matt Rogers can cope up with the intensity and defensive plays that the Mixers are known with.

If Matt Rogers’ presence will continue to be unfelt, this team ain’t going anywhere. Especially that James Yap continues to be inconsistent in his explosiveness since the semi-finals of last conference.

The sampayan brigade plus Matt Rogers must take over. The Backcourt (Barroca, Mallari, Simon) must blend just like 3-in-1. Mallari must improve his decision making and shooting attribute. Barroca must be confident in everything he does in the court. Simon, same with James Yap, he must be consistent.

A 0-2 win-loss record is not the best way to start defending a championship title. Denzel Bowles is far from helping the team. If SMC Mixers continues playing with Rogers, he must be felt offensively and defensively especially inside the paint.

For sure, SMC Mixers Planet is now chanting.

“We Want BOWLES!”

Return of AdiRepublik

Hi followers!
If there's one.
Well, anyway... Sorry for the long lay-off. Been busy for the past few days.
My last post was about the devastating knockout of the "People's Champ" Manny Pacquaio which the later suffered from his arch-rival Juan Manuel "El Dinamita" Marquez.

There has been to many issue in the sports world during my absence in this blog. To mention some of them, there was the doping scandal of Lance Armstrong which he admitted during his one-on-one interview with the queen of talk Oprah. Another was the blunt usage of PED (Performance-Enhancement Drug) by athletes which Juan Manuel Marquez was also accused due to his questionable power and muscle despite being aged at 39. Another story was Nonito "The Flash" Donaire Jr. earning the boxer of the year award from all major award-giving body in the field of boxing.

Damn! missed all of this.

Hopefully, I could continue posting in this site.

God Bless as all!
