Great Beer Quotes

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."
Jack Handy

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.
Dave Barry

I would give all my fame for a pot of ale and safety.

BEER: HELPING UGLY PEOPLE HAVE SEX SINCE 3000 B.C.!!!
"Unknown"

Remember "I" before "E", except in Budweiser.

To some it's a six-pack, to me it's a Support Group. Salvation in a can!

And saving the best for last, as explained by Cliff Clavin, of Cheers. One afternoon at Cheers, Cliff Clavin was explaining the Buffalo Theory to his buddy Norm. Here's how it went:

"Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

Celtics Battles Heat But Fell Short

Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals was an epic. First quarter was for Boston leading as much as 15 points. But the Heat bounced back in the second half, the fourth quarter battle was a thrill..but in the end the game fell back to square one. The Celtics forced an OT after tying at 99 at the end of the fourth.
As the game was extended, the Heat controlled the tempo. Dwane Wade and Lebron James powered the heat during overtime but their counter part Rajon Rondo showed heart until the last second of the game.
Rondo shot a two consecutive three's making it a 3 points lead at 2.2 secs left during OT.
Rondo who has 44 points, and played full minutes in Game 2 can't help but look at the time fading. Great performance indeed for Rondo but couldn't help his team to tie the series.
Are we witnessing a sweep by the Heat?..or the Celtics will still emerge victorious?..
or a championship series between HEAT and SPURS is in the making?

Game 2 OKC Thunder: is there another meltdown?

As Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals of the NBA is about to happen, OKC Thunder is down in the series 1-to nothing against a veteran team (in terms of playoffs appearances) San Antonio Spurs.
In Game 1, OKC Thunder is leading from halftime up to the end of the third quarter. But, as fourth quarter starts, the Spurs outscored the Thunders’ especially early part of the quarter.
Then, as a result OKC Thunders were defeated by the Spurs. They gave a fair battle from the beginning of  until the third quarter of game 1. But let us give credit where credit is due, the Thunder gave the Spurs a tough fight.
Game 2 is on its way as I write this article, can the thunder sustain the youth advantage that I thought gave them advantage in game 1 especially early part of it? Can Russell Westbrook backed-up Kevin Durant’s offense and helped their hopes on the coveted championship crown? Will James Harden help the team in offense as well in defense?

Or another fourth quarter meltdown will happen.

Thunders' Youth against Spurs' Experienced

The OKC Thunders seems unstoppable after successful run in the first and second round of the playoffs which they eliminated the defending champion in a 4-0 series and a 4-1 series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Now, in the western conference finals, they're destined to play with leagues most consistent and no.1 seeded in the post-season, the San Antonio Spurs.
This series is most likely to be a battle between "youth and experience".
Spurs, is a veteran-full kind of team, to name some, Stephen Jackson, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker.
On the other hand, the Thunders are a hungry, aggressive , and athletic kind of team due to the "youth" factor that they have. But in Game 1 of their Western Conference Finals, Experience prevails.
As the Spurs scored 39 points in the last quarter compared the Thunders' 27 points. The Thunders outscored the Spurs during the second and third quarters of the game putting them in the lead after three quarters of play. But in the fourth quarter, the thunder seems to be out of gas, missing shots and just scoring 2 points after almost five minutes of play in the fourth quarter.
Manu Ginobili lead the Spurs off the bench with his 26 points as the Spurs win Game 1 of their 7-game series.
Now, lot of questions are asked and to asked, one of them is can the Thunders bounce back from the lose?
can the Thunder overcome the experienced that the Spurs has? Will Westbrook support KD and explode?.

On thing is for sure, this series will be a classic.
Youth versus Experience...which will prevail?

What happen to McCants?

Yesterday, I've watched the PBA game between Powerade and Petron Blazers. I've noticed that Rashad McCants of Powerade was not playing as what I (and maybe everyone) expected him to play. Though, during first quarter he scored 10 points but he faded during 2nd quarter. During 3rd and 4rth  quarter, I saw he had moments but still it's not enough to impress everyone.
The Filipino fans ( that includes me!) expected more from him. Honestly, McCants is the only (for me..) "well-known" or familiar import in the 2012 governor's cup of the PBA.
He's an NBA vet, a known vet, he must show something. He must lift up his team especially in times of troubles or downs..his field goals percentage yesterday was not that impressive.
Is he playing for the "love of the game" or just for the "money"?..
or we are just expecting too much from?..
Fortunately, the conference just started and let us give him another shot..let's say 2 more games.
It's too early for us to judged him. There's a lot of factors to be considered.
